one too many daydreams i woke up in the heart of the city but only ghosts walked around, depressions of what used to be people so i surmised if i were to undress and wear the clothes i was born to reverse the lengths i was shorn to would there be anything to tell me otherwise? recurring nightmares i woke up at the foot of my bed coloured in fabrics of the triggers i tore to shreds i'd give anything to go back there "i could have been anyone" i said to he, "but she lives in my reflection back in the city"

breathing in the frayed ends of your clothes as i sleep on your thighs steeped in skin and hair when i lay right beside you and close my eyes we carried in a leaf from outside and gave it some shelter, some water it came alive until it grew its roots and arms and legs and left us behind a suitcase full of blood and bits of bone is what's behind the leaf that came and carved out all of our insides so i'll drink the flowers of the trees that stem from your eyes
